International Exchange Scholarships
Sydney Global Mobility

You will find a comprehensive list of exchange and travelling scholarships available to University of Sydney students here.

Short-term Programs Winter 2017

Sydney Abroad will be offering up to 50 International Exchange Outbound Scholarships for students on short-term study programs in the period June - August 2017 – valued at $1000 each.

Short-term scholarships are available to students attending exchange partner universities whether you have been accepted as an exchange student (tuition fees paid at the University of Sydney, accommodation & associated program fees paid at the partner university) or study abroad student (tuition and program fees paid to the partner university).

The awards are allocated on the basis of academic merit, with students ranked by the overall average of their academic results in their current course of study including any units of study transferred from a previous course at The University of Sydney. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May.

Semester 2, 2017

Sydney Abroad will be offering International Exchange Outbound Scholarships for exchanges in the equivalent of Semester 2, 2017 – valued between $2,000 - $2,500 each.

The awards are allocated on the basis of academic merit (average mark over the most recent 48 credit points completed in your current course), exchange destination and academic faculty. Students nominated for an International Exchange Program will be automatically considered and successful scholarship recipients will be notified by email in April 2017.

Students may only receive one scholarship per exchange experience and are not eligible for a second scholarship if they extend their one-semester exchange into a two-semester exchange at the same partner institution. Students are not eligible for the award if they are in receipt of another travelling scholarship or grant valued at $2000 or more (this includes those scholarships and grants listed here and the New Colombo Plan Scholarship or Mobility program).

Targeted Scholarships -

  • $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to selected students based on successful placement (Sydney nomination and host institution acceptance) at one of the exchange host institutions listed in Table 1. Where the number of  students placed at these destinations exceeds the existing funding, academic merit will be taken into account in determining the scholarship recipients.
