Emory University
Location: Atlanta GA
Year Established: 1836
Student population: 14,800
Emory University is recognised for its outstanding liberal arts colleges, its leading healthcare system and its graduate and professional schools. It’s located on a leafy campus in Atlanta and punches above its weight in research funding. Its alumni include a US vice president, a Supreme Court justice, philanthropists, Pulitzer Prize winners, entrepreneurs, entertainers and an astronaut.
Emory offers a close-knit, fun-filled community with the benefits of outstanding teachers, new facilities, innovative teaching styles and countless campus activities. There are seven libraries, a wide range of famous guest speakers, and access to major world institutions including Yerkes National Primate Research Center and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Emory maintains a number of traditions, including Wonderful Wednesdays, when the entire community comes together at Asbury Circle to boost the school spirit and have fun with anything from a bouncing castle to dance party or ice cream tasting.

Unique characteristics
There are nine undergraduate and graduate schools, including Emory College of Arts and Sciences, Oxford College, Goizueta Business School, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, the School of Medicine, the School of Law, the James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies, Rollins School of Public Health and Candler School of Theology. Goizueta Business School at Emory University is an influential global business school and one of the world’s best for career opportunities. Each year, over 100 international exchange students representing more than 24 countries are welcomed to Goizueta, one of the best undergraduate business programs in the United States.

Emory's beautiful campus is just 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta, a thriving city of more than 5 million people with top industry sectors that include trade, transportation and utilities, professional and business services and government. Atlanta is full of skyscrapers and development, housing 12 FORTUNE 500 headquarters, hundreds of other headquarters, over 2,100 international companies and thousands of small businesses, but is a relatively green city with pleasant suburbs. You can visit the Georgia Aquarium, the new World of Coca-Cola and Atlanta Zoo, and it’s within easy reach of the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains as well as beaches in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
