Today it’s known for its scientific and medical research for which it has won numerous local and international awards.
The beautiful 900-acre campus offers natural parkland, hills, valleys and a variety of tropical flora and fauna and a wide range of recreational activities for students. It’s located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and international city that is a drawcard for international academics and students. Thirty per cent of the students come from overseas.
Unique characteristics
The University has many international research collaborations working on a range of issues from infectious disease to intellectual property and poverty eradication studies. There are 17 faculties and research centres across the full spectrum of Arts, Sciences and Humanities.

Kuala Lumpur is a mix of ancient Malay, Chinese and Indonesian cultures, with plenty of historic monuments, street markets, mosques and temples alongside the skyscrapers, shopping malls and a thriving business scene. Shopping and eating are the major pastimes here, with a truly wonderful variety of Asian flavours to sample. The University offers a shuttle service to help you enjoy everything the city has to offer.
