Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship

Students nominated to a semester exchange program or eligible short-term Global Mobility program will automatically be considered for a Vice Chancellor’s Global Mobility Scholarship under one of the following categories and successful scholarship recipients will be notified by email.*

Semester Exchange Programs

Super Exchange Partners

Students will receive a Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship of $2000 if accepted into a semester exchange program at one of our seven Super Exchange Partners:
  • National University of Singapore, Singapore
  • University of California, USA
  • University of Copenhagen, Denmark
  • University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom
  • University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
  • University of Toronto, Canada
  • Utrecht University, The Netherlands
Where the number of students nominated to these destinations exceeds the existing funding, academic merit will be used to determine scholarship recipients.

Academic Merit

Students accepted into a semester exchange program at all other exchange partner universities will automatically be considered for a Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship based on academic merit valued at $1500. To be eligible for the VCGM Scholarship, you must have achieved an overall average mark of 70.00% or above taking into account all marks obtained in your current course (including internal transfer credit) up to the time of your exchange nomination.

Short-term scholarships

Selected short-term Global Mobility programs have been allocated a specific number of VCGM Scholarships valued at $1500. Scholarship information will be provided in the program brochure under the Finances tab. Where the number of students accepted to the Program exceeds the allocated scholarships, students will be selected based on nomination to an exchange place (where available) and then on academic merit. 

Students accepted into selected short term Global Mobiity programs will automatically be considered for a VCGM Scholarship based on academic merit valued at $1000. To be eligible for the VCGM Scholarship, you must have achieved an overall average mark of 70.00% or above taking into account all marks obtained in your current course (including internal transfer credit) up to the time of your acceptance into the short-term Global Mobility program.

Selection for the Vice Chancellor’s Global Mobility Scholarships occurs:

  • upon nomination to the semester exchange program.
  • upon acceptance to a short-term global mobility program.

Scholarship recipients are required to upload their acceptance letter from the host university/program provider and complete the Global Mobility Travel Registry:

Scholarships will be paid no earlier than 3 months prior to the start date of the host university semester or program.


*Conditions apply.
  • Students are not eligible for a Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship if they are in receipt of another travelling scholarship or Australian Government grant for the same program. Specific details will be outlined in the VCGM Scholarship terms and conditions.
  • Students cannot receive the Dalyell Global Mobility Scholarship and Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship for the same program.
  • Students may only receive one scholarship per term (summer, Sem 1, winter, Sem 2) even if participating in multiple short-term Global Mobility programs. 
  • Students may only receive one scholarship per program and are not eligible for a second scholarship if they extend a one semester exchange for an additional semester at the same partner university. 
  • Students participating in a BYO short-term mobility program are not eligible for the Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship. Eligible students may request to be considered for the Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Award.
