Program dates July 2nd 2017 – August 11th 2017

*Program end dates impact on Semester 2 2017 lectures (commencing on Monday 31 July 2017). Students must be in Australia and ready to attend classes from teaching week 3 (Monday 14 August 2017).
Students must understand that no special consideration will be given by the faculty for assessment extensions or deferred exams because of their late commencement.

Eligibility criteria When researching the CISaustralia programs, be sure to consider whether you meet the published pre-requisites. You should contact CISaustralia for course syllabi and discuss whether the program meets your academic requirements by discussing it with your course coordinator at the University of Sydney.

Credit / Not-for-credit Please contact your faculty office with the below form to submit an application for credit. Participation in any study abroad program does not guarantee credit and will require faculty assessment of individual applications-for-credit. Please contact for further information on credit transfers for CIS programs.

Fees and scholarships 2017 Program fee: AUD $10,950 – AUD $12,599

Program fees are in Australian dollars and include the following: 
  • Tuition fees – 6 week program (2 courses = 8 US credits)
  • All additional BU registration, orientation and document fees
  • Accommodation for duration of program*
  • All on-campus dormitory rooms have a built in meal plan of 10 meals per week**
  • Selected excursions and / or cultural activities 
  • Medical and accident insurance

Please note that you also need to budget for flights, meals (if staying in off campus University apartments), student visa and personal travel expenses. We can provide a realistic sample of expected additional expenses so you can be fully prepared for all costs and budget accordingly. Students should expect to pay approx. A$500 for their student visa, pending the exchange rate ($AUD to $USD). The visa fee of approx. A$500 includes 3 different components - a US Government visa application fee, a US Government Issuance Fee and the US Government ‘Student and Exchange Visitor Information System’ (SEVIS) fee. US Government student visa fees are regulated by the US Government and are subject to change without notice. CISaustralia cannot charge or collect fees for the US student visa.

OS-HELP loans may be available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place where the program is approved for credit prior to departure. Application required.
