Keio University – Short Term Study Abroad
Japanese Studies Program

Location Greater Tokyo Area, Japan
Program description Students have the opportunity to travel to Japan in their winter break in japan at Keio University.
Designed to present a broad and yet engaging look into Japan's culture and society, Keio offers a two-week program--conducted entirely in English--covers a range of topics, from economics and politics to art and food culture, in addition to sessions in "Survival Japanese." After participating in lectures by leading experts in the field, students take part in hands-on activities and excursions to experience what they have just learned.

Eligibility criteria Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students in an undergraduate (bachelor’s level) or graduate (master’s level) program at one of keio’s partner universities and must not be currently studying in Japan. Participants must be fluent in English. No Japanese proficiency is required as all lectures and excursions are conducted in English.

Credit / Not-for-credit Please contact your faculty office with the below form to submit an application for credit. Participation in any study abroad program does not guarantee credit and will require faculty assessment of individual applications-for-credit.

Fees and scholarships 2017 Total Program Fee: 230,000 JPY (~AUD $2,650)

Additional costs (not included in program fee):  Airfare, travel and health insurance, personal expenses and additional travel.
OS-HELP loans may be available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place where the program is approved for credit prior to departure. Application required.
