Local Overview

Few countries in the world have such a deep, lasting impression on a traveller as India does. It overloads the senses with its cacophony of sounds, vibrant colours and extreme contradictions. You should embark on your Indian adventure with an open mind and an open heart.

A trip to India is full of the unexpected but one thing’s certain: you won’t return home quite the same after the adventure!
40K Globe is based in rural villages surrounding Bengaluru, India.

Bengaluru is located in the southern state of Karnataka and is the IT capital of India. Bengaluru is a bustling, thriving, metropolitan city. On the program, you’ll be spending your time in the rural villages that surround it - a huge contrast to what is arguably India’s most modern and progressive city.

The villages are typically 1-2 hours (by public transport) outside of the city. They are regularly serviced by buses and trains. Google maps search “Marenahalli” or “Meenakunte hosur” for an idea of where the villages are located.

Read about other student's experiences on the 40K Blog page.
