French Immersion Program

Location Paris, France
Program description University of Sydney students have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks of their winter holidays undertaking French language classes and social activities at Paris Diderot University, Paris, France.

This immersion program is intended for international students who want to improve their French language skills and discover French culture during 3 weeks.

Academic program

  • 3h courses of French as a foreign language each morning. Possibility to acquire 3 credits ECTS
  • 3 conferences to discover the French civilization and culture

Social program

  • Cruise on the river Seine
  • Centre Pompidou museum
  • Guided tours of 3 districts
  • Orsay museum
  • French cuisine workshop
  • Guided tour of Louvre museum
  • Guided tour of Garnier Opera House
  • Château de Versailles
Field trips on Saturdays:
  • Normandy: Honfleur and Etretat
  • Reims: guided tour of the Cathedral and vineyard, champagne tasting

Credit / Not-for-credit You will be emailed credit application instructions for your faculty once you have expressed interest in this program with the form linked at the bottom of this page. Please allow 1-2 weeks for this information to be sent through.
Language Classes are instructed in French.
Fees and scholarships
2017 Program fee:  €2,500
Inclusions:  Accommodation, lunch (except weekends), courses and tours.

Additional costs (not included in program fee): Airfare, travel and health insurance, visa, personal expenses and additional travel.
Scholarship available:  AUD$1,000  (merit-based, application required)

OS-HELP loans may be available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place where the program is approved for credit prior to departure. Application required.
