UC Irvine is located on the southern coast of California, near some of the state’s most famous beaches. It is neighboured by Los Angeles to the north and San Diego to the south, and the college is a mere 14 miles away from Disneyland. This is the America displayed in countless TV shows and teen movies, and UC Irvine during the summer is the perfect time and place to step into that world.
The University is one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions, and its Irvine campus ranks consistently in the Global Top 100 universities (THE rankings). Established in 1965, Irvine is one of the fastest-growing of all UC schools, and is represented by mascot Peter the Anteater. University athletes, or “Anteaters”, regularly compete at national and international level, with 53 having represented their country at the Olympics. UCI is also ranked as the No 1 university in the country for beach lovers by Money Magazine.
