About
The University of Cincinnati (UC) is a leading urban research university which offers both an excellent education and real world experience. It’s ranked as one of America’s top 25 public research universities by the National Science Foundation. It’s here that co-op education was pioneered, and it was also responsible for the development of the oral polio vaccine.

Highlights
UC is considered one of the best universities in the world for the student experience, including learning, social activities and support services. Student life revolves around MainStreet, a purpose built district that offers entertainment venues, shopping, food outlets and student resources. There is a variety of sports on offer, plus a large recreation centre.

Unique characteristics
UC offers more than 100 undergraduate programs spanning Arts and sciences, Engineering and applied science, Education, criminal justice, and Human services, Nursing, Music, Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, Business and Health sciences. UC leads the world in cooperative education, where students have the opportunity to combine full time, paid work with their studies.

Location
A pretty, hilly city on the banks of the Ohio River, Cincinnati has a major-league baseball team, a zoo and a pleasant strip along the riverfront. There are good restaurants – chilli is a big thing here – and there’s also the tallest and fastest wooden rollercoaster in the world.
