About
The Royal College of Music is ranked among the best music schools in the world. It offers training from undergraduate to doctorate level in all aspects of western classical music including performance, music theory, history, conducting and composition. It is located directly across from the famous Royal Albert Hall.
 
Highlights
Since its founding, the College has been linked with the British Royal Family. Its patron is currently Queen Elizabeth II. It mentors and offers exchange study programs for students from a range of prestigious international music schools including the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
 
Unique Characteristics
RCM musicians perform numerous lunchtime and rush-hour concerts across London: at the National Gallery, the Victoria and Albert, St Stephens and Steinway Hall.

Orientation
A full week of orientation events is held during the first week of the academic year (i.e. September) for all students, covering both introductions to aspects of academic study and student life.  In addition there are meetings particularly aimed at introducing international students to life in the UK, and exchange students are given a one to one meeting with their Head of Programme to discuss their personal timetable.
