About

Highlights
The University is spread over two well-connected locations and closely integrated with the cultural life of the city. There is a focus on innovation and technology and there are excellent services for students, 20 per cent of whom are international.

Unique characteristics
Research centres around eight interdisciplinary areas: Modelling and Simulation Technology, New Materials, Complex Systems and Communication, Concepts of Technology and Technology Evaluation, Energy and the Environment, Mobility, Integrated Product Design and Production Organisation, and Building and Housing. Within the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, the Institute for Computational Design offers cutting edge teaching and research covering design, engineering, planning and construction.
 
Location
Living is easy in Stuttgart, located between the forests and vineyards of the Black Forest and the Swabian Mountains. There is plenty to do, ranging from museums to good dining, modern and traditional architecture and even an urban beach.

Accommodation 
The Office of International Affairs can arrange housing for the visiting program students from overseas in student dorms on request. Further information on how to apply online for student housing will be e-mailed to successful applicants upon receipt of their application. As the allocation of dormitory rooms is done by the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart , the International Office does not have any influence concerning the location or the exact price category of the allocated rooms. Prices vary from €240 to €400.
 
Cost of Living
Use this guide to estimate living expenses associated with studying overseas. The University of Stuttgart invites nominated students to apply for a Baden-Württemberg Foundation scholarship, to the value of 500-600€ per month, for one semester, to a minimum value of 2000€.
