Situated in the heart of Paris, Université Paris Diderot (known as Paris 7) is the only multidisciplinary university in Paris to offer a wide range of degrees in the Humanities, Medicine and the Sciences. The University has an international reputation for research excellence in science, medicine, dentistry, art and humanities and social sciences and is a member of the prestigious Sorbonne Paris Cité PRES.
Paris 7 operates out of new buildings in the fast-developing part of Paris known as Paris Rive Gauche, on the banks of the Seine near the Bibliothèque nationale de France. It has Paris’s largest and newest university library.
Unique characteristics
The University offers a wide range of high quality courses, which are closely tied to research activity. Courses are ambitious, innovative and professionally-oriented. There is a multidisciplinary range available, covering Arts, Literature, Languages, Social Sciences and Humanities, Science and Technology, and Medicine and Dentistry.
The Rive Gauche site is a unique project which features remodeled industrial buildings offering teaching and research facilities which blend with the rich local cultural and economic scene. Here you’ll get to know the city that has long welcomed writers, musicians and intellectuals including Ernest Hemingway and Jean-Paul Sartre.
