A young university founded to boost the development of Cyprus, the University of Cyprus is recognised as the most important research and higher education institution in the country and is a distinguished Mediterranean University.

Unique characteristics
There are 8 faculties, 22 departments and 11 research units. The Faculty of Social Sciences and Education has courses in Education, Social and Political Sciences, Law and Psychology, while it’s also possible to study a range of languages and Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies.

Location
Nicosia, or ‘Lefkosia’ as it’s officially known to Greek speakers, offers ancient buildings, traditional Cypriot food and a vibrant cultural scene. Surrounded by historic walls there are churches, mosques and a museum, and the Mediterranean means it’s sunny all year.
