University of Reading
Location: Reading
Year Established: 1892
Student Population:  17,000 (6,400 international students)
Based on three campuses in and around the city of Reading, the University has a long tradition of research, education and training at local, national and international level.
Located on the university grounds, the Henley Business School is one of the few business schools in the world to hold triple-accreditation from the three major awarding bodies. This places it in the top one per cent of business schools globally. With more than 65 years’ experience in developing managers and research, placement is much sought after by an upcoming generation with their sights set on international business careers.
Unique Characteristics
Although its main teaching and expertise is at the Reading campus, Henley has associates in more than 20 countries. Along with the business school, the University has adopted a program that offers traditional academic degrees as well as degrees that are more vocationally relevant. It has recently set up a campus in Malaysia. The less business-inclined can major in subjects ranging from graphic communication to typography.
Located in Berkshire, just an hour away from London, Reading has often been overlooked and dismissed, unfairly, as a commuter belt, boring city It may not be the most exciting of UK localities, but it is pleasant, green, with a burgeoning café and bar scene, much cheaper than in the capital, and the city of London within in easy reach.
