Short-term programs - Winter Break 2026 (June – July)
Short-term programs are an exciting opportunity to undertake an international experience during your USYD Degree.
Winter 2026 programs must take place during the University of Sydney semester break (21 June to 2 August 2026).
Steps to Apply
Step 1: Watch the pre-recorded Short-term Application informational videos.
Step 2: Attend an in-person short-term information session or drop-in Q&A.
Step 3: Choose your program, click ‘Apply Now’ and complete the questionnaires inside your application. Ensure you click SUBMIT.
Step 4: Complete the Academic Approval Request questionnaire before the academic approval deadline. Ensure you click SUBMIT.
Step 5: Submit your application for your chosen program.
Academic Approval - to get academic approval, students must apply before the academic approval deadline (2 April 2026).
Faculty Services (Mobility) guarantee your academic approval request will be processed before the start of your overseas program if you have applied before this date. For further information please refer to the 'academics' tab of your chosen program brochure.
Program application and payment deadlines vary by program. You can submit applications for up to two programs.
You are eligible to complete ONE program for credit over the University break for a maximum approved credit limit of 12cp.
You must have an eligible WAM of 50 or above to undertake outbound mobility (in line with the Outbound Mobility Policy (2025))
Winter Break 2026 Global Experiences
Programs are opened on a rolling basis. You must apply by 2 April 2026 if you wish to receive academic pre-approval for your experience.

Academic Approval - you must apply by the 2 April 2026 or the partner deadline (whichever is first) for academic approval, you must have academic approval to participate in an EXCHANGE program.

Applying to a program that is not listed on the Global Mobility Database?
If you wish to participate in a program not promoted on the Global Mobility Database, you can register your travel on our Travel Registry for travel advice and insurance information. You cannot request pre-approved credit through the Travel Registry.
