New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Program
Students should apply for the Semester Exchange Program and include one or more of the eligible NCP Mobility Program host locations in their preferences. Once nominated to a partner university, all eligible applicants will be considered for the available NCP mobility grants. Where there are more eligible students than the number of available grants, additional criteria will be taken into consideration in determining grant recipients.

As the 2019 New Colombo Plan Mobility Program funding has not yet been released by the Australian Government to the University of Sydney, students nominated for the semester exchange program in the equivalent of Semester 2, 2019 will automatically be assessed and grant offers sent in June 2019.
Please note that students cannot hold the Vice Chancellor’s Global Mobility Scholarship in combination with an NCP or ELP mobility grant.
Eligibility Criteria
The general eligibility criteria for all New Colombo Plan Mobility Program student grants are as follows. Each student must:- be an Australian citizen. Students cannot receive a Student Grant to undertake a Mobility Project in a Host Location in which they have dual citizenship or residency rights;
- be enrolled at the University of Sydney throughout the duration of your Mobility Project;
- be enrolled in a Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Honours Degree at the commencement of the Mobility Project;
- be aged 18–28 at the start of the Mobility Project, with capacity to include some students over 28;
- not have already commenced a period of overseas study in the same Host Location as the Mobility Project; and
- not receive more than one NCP Short-term (NCPST) and one NCP Semester grant (NCPSEM) with or without an internship OR Endeavour mobility grant within the same category during their Australian course of study.
- are enrolled in specific subject areas which were given preference in the NCP grant submission
- were admitted to the University of Sydney through the Early Offer Year 12 (E12) Scheme or other admission pathway through the UAC Educational Access Schemes (EAS) under the category of disadvantage - Financial hardship
- identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- are First in Family to attend University
- are from Rural or Regional areas
- had a higher overall average mark in their current course at the time of nomination to the semester exchange program.
