Program description Our January in New Zealand program takes place over six weeks between early-January and mid-February at the University of Otago. The University of Otago is well recognised for its world-class quality of research and teaching. It is one of the few universities in the world where the main activity of its host city, Dunedin, is education.
During your six-week stay, you will take one or two courses subject to your faculty’s approval.

Places available CIS Australia programs are highly competitive and fill up fast so be sure to get your application in as early as possible.
Eligibility criteria To qualify students must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 4.5 (out of 7) or equivalent. If your current GPA falls below the requirement please contact us to discuss your situation. We will do what we can to find the right program for you.
As part of your application you will complete a CISaustralia Course Selection Worksheet. The instructions provided will assist you through the steps involved in selecting your courses.

Credit/Not-for-credit Please contact your faculty office with the below form or email to submit an application for credit. Participation in any CIS Australia program does not guarantee credit and will require faculty assessment of individual applications-for-credit.

OS-HELP loans may be available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place where the program is approved for credit prior to departure. Application required.
Location overview Dunedin will be your host city during this January in New Zealand program. Located at the southern tip of the South Island, Dunedin is a mid-sized city with enough going on to ensure you make the most of your time abroad.
