Program description University of Sydney students have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks of their winter holidays undertaking intensive Italian language classes and culture seminars at the Universita degli Studi di Udine, Italy.

2017 Tuition Fee Waiver 

Additional costs (not included in program fee): Airfare, insurance, visa, accommodation, one daily meal (~EUR €4,60), textbooks and additional travel.

If you do not receive one of these positions, Sydney Abroad offers Paid Positions at the host Institution. 

Total program fee:  4,000 Euros

Inclusions: 
  • 60 course hours of Italian language at elementary, intermediate or advanced level
  • three afternoon sessions “Italian Cinema”
  • tutorial service
  • use of the University’s Linguistic Centre, library, and computer room
  • a guided tour of Udine
  • a guided trip of an historical site in Friuli Venezia Giulia
  • one daily meal (~ EUR€4,60) offered at the University canteen (ARDISS Udine)
  • other activities as specified in the program.

Scholarship available:  AUD$1,000  (merit-based, application required)

OS-HELP loans may be available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place where the program is approved for credit prior to departure. Application required.

 
About the university The Universita degli Studi di Udine:
  • Offers small Italian language classes with only 10-12 participants per class
  • Young and dynamic university built in 1978 as part of reconstruction after an earthquake
  • Student population of 17,000
  • Collaborates on research projects with universities from Europe, Africa, India and China.
  Udine is friendly medium-sized town close to numerous important historic sites. It offers cafes, restaurants, wine bars, museums and some of Europe’s largest shopping malls. The town and the campus are easy to get around by foot and there’s a good bike sharing system. Udine also boasts a great sporting life, close to the ski slopes, soccer games and cycle paths.
